When we first met Mr Brownie we immediately felt a strong connection to him. He behaved like a dog, craving attention and began to purr as soon as we touched him. Holding him in our arms was like holding a furry baby with a big heart... We could physically feel his heart beat. We managed the retreat café and we promoted Mr Brownie as Manager. He loved the attention and enjoyed our company, and the massages and hugs. He had been a stray cat up to four weeks before meeting.... When he simply appeared in the retreat one day. However, as we found out the retreat cannot keep Mr Brownie (as it closes in the winter) and we had to do some deep meditation and inspection into our feelings. We have fallen in love with Mr Brownie...but we didn't want to take him away from his home....However, we realized he soon wouldn't have a home anymore and felt he might not even survive the Bulgarian winter with temperatures around -10 and -20 degrees. Could he be happy with us back in Las Palmas? Was it selfish or an act of love? He was part of our family already and it was late in the night when got some realisations: We wanted to adopt Mr Brownie because we felt it to be right. We saw Mr Brownie growing up happy and healthy with us as a family. A few days later we officially adopted him. Now we are asking for help to bring Mr Brownie safe and home to Las Palmas from Bulgaria. We are hoping to gain 600€ ultimately. We have also taken the best possible airlines available, even enabling PJ to check up on Mr Brownie between the two flights. Now we are going to play a fundraising concert where one can one donate and listen to us, Alica and PJ, play mantras, medicine songs and conscious country-folk songs...maybe even some cat-themed songs.
